Homemade coconut milk eggnog is the dairy-free Full GAPS version of the holiday drink: creamy, gently sweet, softly spiced, and built on a measured five-cup homemade coconut-milk base. Eight raw yolks give it color and richness, while natural honey replaces the source’s other sweetener choices.

This is useful when the family table needs one holiday drink that does not depend on fresh dairy. The process is nearly identical to the raw-milk version, but every cup of liquid comes from homemade additive-free coconut milk.

Where Coconut Milk Eggnog Fits on GAPS

This is a Full GAPS drink after homemade coconut milk, raw yolks, natural honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and any optional gelatin are introduced and tolerated. It does not require the later fresh raw milk and cream sequence used in Raw Milk Eggnog With Honey.

Use Hot-Water Homemade Coconut Milk without additives. Do not substitute canned coconut milk in this formula. The source’s alcohol branch is omitted, and natural honey is the only sweetener.

Keep the Coconut Milk Total at Five Cups

For the gelatin method, divide the measured coconut milk into one cup for warming and four cold cups for the blender. That division does not add extra liquid; the formula remains five cups total. Without gelatin, all five cups go directly into the blender.

Bloom the Optional Gelatin

Put one cup homemade coconut milk in a small stainless-steel saucepan. Mix one teaspoon plain gelatin, one teaspoon cinnamon, and one-half teaspoon nutmeg. Sprinkle them evenly over the milk, whisk to distribute, and rest one minute. The surface should be opaque ivory and evenly flecked, with no dry gelatin patches.

Warm over medium heat for two to three minutes, stirring, until steamy but not simmering. Remove from the heat and cool at least five minutes. Once warm rather than steaming, stir in one-half cup natural honey. Add up to another two and two-thirds tablespoons only for the full two-thirds-cup source maximum.

Blend Until the Color Is Even

Put the remaining four cups cold homemade coconut milk and eight raw yolks in the Ninja BN801 pitcher. Add the cooled spiced mixture and blend on low for 10 to 15 seconds. Stop as soon as there are no visible yolk streaks. The finished drink should be creamy ivory with a warm yolk-gold cast, not whipped into a tall cap of foam.

Chill until cold and serve with a small grating of fresh nutmeg. Coconut milk does not behave exactly like fresh raw cream, so expect a slightly different body from the dairy version while keeping the same yolk, honey, and spice measures.

The No-Gelatin Option

Omit gelatin and put all five cups homemade coconut milk, honey, eight yolks, cinnamon, and nutmeg directly in the blender. Blend on low for 10 to 15 seconds, just until even, then chill. The drink will be looser than the gelatin version but remains the same measured coconut formula.

Use the Reserved Whites

If raw egg whites are already introduced, beat the eight reserved whites to stiff peaks and fold them into the chilled eggnog for the optional traditional finish. Or save them for Honey Gelatin Marshmallow Meringue.

Storage and Serving

Keep the eggnog covered and cold. Stir gently before serving if the coconut milk has settled. Make it close enough to serving that the texture and spice stay fresh. The measured formula makes four rich servings.

Use a small Le Creuset stainless-steel saucepan, stainless whisk, measuring cups and spoons, the exact Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System BN801 with its 72-ounce pitcher, a covered glass pitcher or jar, and four serving glasses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Use Canned Coconut Milk?

No. Use five measured cups of homemade additive-free coconut milk.

Is Gelatin Required?

No. It gives the chilled drink a thicker body, but the no-gelatin method keeps the same coconut milk, yolk, honey, and spice measures.

Why Is This Separate From Raw Milk Eggnog?

The two formulas have different measured bases and GAPS placement. This version uses five cups homemade coconut milk; the later dairy version uses four cups raw milk plus one cup fresh raw cream.

Can I Use Whole Eggs?

The measured base uses eight raw yolks. The reserved whites are an optional finish only after raw whites are introduced.
