Affiliate Disclosure
The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Paid, gifted, or discounted relationships are disclosed with the relevant content.
Effective date: September 9, 2026
Well Fed & Lived In shares links to products, books, services, and retailers that may be useful to readers. Some of those links create a financial or other material relationship. This page explains how those relationships are disclosed.
What an Affiliate Link Means
When a link is an affiliate link, Well Fed & Lived In may receive a commission or other credit if you follow the link and make a qualifying purchase. You do not pay a higher price because the link is an affiliate link.
A normal link may also be included simply because it helps explain a source, product, or next step. If there is no material relationship, no affiliate disclosure is required for that link.
Amazon Associates
Well Fed & Lived In is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Sponsored, Gifted, and Discounted Products
A material relationship can include payment, an affiliate commission, a free product, a discount, travel, early access, or another benefit. When a post, video, email, image, or social post includes that kind of relationship, the relationship will be stated in clear language with the relevant content.
Receiving something of value does not guarantee positive coverage. If a product was supplied, discounted, or sponsored, that fact will be disclosed even when the opinion is unchanged.
Where Disclosures Appear
A disclosure belongs where a reader can notice it before or with the recommendation. It should not depend on a reader finding this policy page.
- Blog posts with paid or affiliate links receive a plain-language disclosure near the top, before the first recommendation or affiliate link
- A product review identifies any affiliate, gifted, discounted, or sponsored relationship within the review
- An email containing affiliate links includes a disclosure in the email
- A social post uses clear wording such as “ad,” “sponsored,” “gifted,” or “I may earn a commission,” as the relationship requires
- A video disclosure appears in the video when the endorsement is made and near affiliate links in the description
The Federal Trade Commission advises that disclosures should be clear, easy to understand, and placed with the endorsement itself. Readers can review the FTC’s Endorsement Guides questions and answers.
Reviews and Recommendations
A commission opportunity does not turn a product into a recommendation. Reviews should distinguish first-hand use from manufacturer specifications, state material limitations, and avoid claiming an experience that did not happen.
Prices, formulas, specifications, stock, retailer policies, and product warnings can change. Check the current seller and manufacturer information before buying or using a product.
Health-Related Products
An affiliate relationship does not make a product medically appropriate or prove a health claim. Product and supplement content is general information and personal experience, not personalized medical advice. Read the Medical Disclaimer before relying on health-related content.
Your Choice
You never have to use an affiliate link. You may search for the same product or retailer independently. Choosing not to use an affiliate link does not limit access to the site’s free articles or public resources.
Corrections
If an affiliate, sponsorship, gifted-product, or other material relationship is missing or unclear, please report the exact page through the Contact page. The disclosure will be reviewed and corrected under the Editorial & Corrections Policy.
