Ingredients

  • 3 cups ripe strawberries fresh or fully defrosted if frozen
  • 1 cup freshly pressed pomegranate juice
  • 6 tablespoons raw honey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon peeled fresh ginger root slightly heaping; finely grated
  • 2 pinches natural sea salt
  • 24 ounces natural carbonated mineral water equivalent to 3 liquid cups per five-serving batch; unflavored and unsweetened
  • fresh mint optional, for garnish

Equipment

  • Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System BN801 with large blender pitcher
  • Measuring cups and spoons for exact amounts
  • Fine grater for peeled fresh ginger
  • Citrus reamer and small strainer for fresh lemon and pomegranate juice
  • Large clear glass serving pitcher with safe headroom for foam
  • Long stainless-steel or wooden spoon for gentle mixing
  • 5 Simple drinking glasses for the five-serving yield

Method

  1. Place the strawberries, freshly pressed pomegranate juice, raw honey, fresh lemon juice, grated ginger, and sea salt in the large Ninja BN801 blender pitcher. Fit the lid and blend on medium-high speed for about 45 seconds, until no whole berry pieces remain and the base looks evenly ruby-red and pourable, with only fine seeds and tiny ginger flecks.

  2. Transfer the blended fruit base to a large clear serving pitcher with safe headroom. Add the natural carbonated mineral water. Stir gently from the bottom until the lighter bubbly water and dense fruit base become one even ruby color; avoid vigorous stirring that releases the bubbles or pushes foam over the rim.

  3. Pour into five glasses and serve cool or at room temperature between meals. A thin pale-pink foam cap and fine suspended fruit specks are expected. Add a small fresh mint sprig only if desired.

Later Full GAPS: Use fresh-pressed pomegranate juice, raw honey, ripe strawberries, fresh lemon, fresh ginger, natural sea salt, and plain natural carbonated mineral water. Serve between meals after raw fruit is tolerated. Do not use bottled pasteurized juice, juice concentrate, maple syrup, agave, flavored seltzer, club soda, tonic water, ginger ale, or ice.
Storage: Refrigerate leftover mixed mocktail in covered glass and use within 24 hours; stir gently before pouring. Nutrition is an estimate per one-fifth batch.
