Total Time 1 hour 5 minutes
Servings: 1 batch
Course: Dressing, Full GAPS

Ingredients

  • 1 cup finished homemade mayonnaise Prepare separately before measuring. Contains egg and mustard.
  • 1 tablespoon plain dried chives
  • 1 teaspoon plain dried parsley
  • 2 garlic cloves Crushed.
  • 1/4 white onion Finely diced; or use 1 tablespoon plain dried onion.
  • dash freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon natural sea salt
  • 1-2 tablespoons homemade coconut milk Stir before measuring; add to desired consistency.

Equipment

  • Small glass, ceramic or stainless-steel mixing bowl
  • Fork
  • Measuring cup and spoons
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Covered glass jar

Method

  1. Peel and finely dice one-quarter of a white onion. Crush the garlic cloves. Have the finished homemade mayonnaise and mixed homemade coconut milk ready.
  2. Use a fork to stir the dried chives, dried parsley, prepared garlic and onion, black pepper and sea salt into the mayonnaise. Scrape the sides and bottom until the herbs are distributed without dry clumps.
  3. Stir in one tablespoon of homemade coconut milk. Add the second tablespoon if needed for your preferred consistency. Keep it thicker for dipping or loosen it for spooning over food.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour. Stir before serving to distribute the herbs and onion pieces. Keep the covered dressing refrigerated.

Notes

Preparation: Start with finished homemade mayonnaise and coconut milk. Making these ingredients takes additional time before this recipe.
Onion: One tablespoon of plain dried onion may replace the quarter of a fresh white onion. Give the dressing its full refrigerated rest.
Consistency: Add coconut milk one tablespoon at a time, up to two tablespoons for the base batch.
Timing: Five minutes mixing plus at least 60 minutes refrigerated rest, for 65 minutes planned total. Separate ingredient preparation is additional.
Yield: One batch; portion according to the meal.
Full GAPS: After eggs, mustard, raw onion and the other ingredients have been introduced. Contains eggs and mustard through the linked mayonnaise. The measured coconut-milk version has no dairy ingredients. Not an early Intro dressing or a No-Plant recipe.
Storage: Keep covered and refrigerated and use clean utensils. Do not freeze. Mixing older mayonnaise into dressing does not restart its storage period.
Doubling: Double every numeric ingredient amount, including the one-to-two-tablespoon coconut-milk range. The dash of pepper remains to taste.
