Method
- Pour 2 cups of the filtered water into the blender. Add the blueberries, raw honey, apple-cider vinegar, and minced fresh ginger. Secure the lid.

- Blend on medium speed for about 50 seconds, until the mixture is an opaque purple puree with no whole berries and the skins are reduced to tiny pieces. Stop the machine before checking; if whole berries remain above the liquid, let them settle and blend again briefly.
- Set the fine-mesh strainer securely over the bowl with its rim or arms fully supported. Pour in the puree. Let the liquid drain, pressing gently if needed, and stop when the remaining skins, seeds, and ginger solids look mostly drained.

- Transfer the strained deep-purple liquid to the pitcher. Add the remaining 4 cups filtered water and stir until the color is even from top to bottom.
- Cover and chill until cold. Stir before serving. The finished switchel should pour easily and look translucent at the edge of the glass rather than thick like a smoothie.
Notes
This immediate fresh branch is a vinegar-soured fruit drink, not a controlled ferment or probiotic beverage.
Full GAPS only; not for the Introduction Diet or No-Plant variation.
For the source's dried-ginger alternative, use 2 teaspoons dried ginger in place of the 2 tablespoons fresh ginger.
Refrigerate covered and use within 4 days for the freshest flavor. Stir before pouring. Discard if it develops an unexpected odor, visible surface growth, or pressure.
At 2x, use 12 cups water, 4 cups blueberries, 2/3 cup raw honey, 1/2 cup apple-cider vinegar, and 4 tablespoons fresh ginger. Blend the concentrate in two batches if it exceeds the blender fill line.
